Cadillac has taken its most iconic SUV and re-engineered it for a new era. The Escalade IQ and the extended Escalade IQL mark a full transition from traditional V8 power to a fully electric platform, bringing major changes in design, performance, and daily usability. Rather than simply electrifying the existing model, Cadillac developed these vehicles on a dedicated EV architecture, which allows for better space, improved ride quality, and significantly increased driving range. For buyers in the Middle East—where long distances, high temperatures, and luxury expectations all play a role—these changes are not just technical, they directly affect how the vehicle fits into everyday life.
Exterior Design
The Escalade IQ keeps the strong, upright presence the model is known for, but the details are more modern and refined. The front end is fully closed, replacing the traditional grille with a smooth panel and a prominent illuminated Cadillac badge. Slim vertical LED lighting gives it a sharper identity, especially at night, while the overall body is cleaner and more aerodynamic than before. Flush door handles and large wheels add to the streamlined look without losing the SUV’s imposing size. The IQL version extends the rear, making the vehicle noticeably longer and more formal in appearance, which directly reflects its focus on rear passenger comfort.

Interior Design
Inside, the cabin shifts heavily toward digital integration while maintaining the luxury expected from Cadillac. A large 55-inch curved display stretches across the dashboard, combining driver information and infotainment into a single visual element. The design is minimal, with fewer physical controls and a cleaner layout overall. Despite this, material quality remains a priority, with premium leather, wood accents, and metallic finishes throughout. Space is a key advantage, particularly in the IQL, where the longer body translates into better third-row legroom and increased cargo capacity, making it more practical for families or chauffeur-driven use.

Performance
The Escalade IQ uses a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup producing up to 750 hp and around 1064 Nm of torque, reaching 100 km/h in about 5 seconds. Power delivery is immediate and smooth, making acceleration feel effortless compared to older V8 models.
Handling is improved with rear-wheel steering, which makes the SUV easier to maneuver, and adaptive air suspension that keeps the ride stable and comfortable. A dedicated “Velocity Max” mode unlocks full performance, while other modes focus on smoother and more efficient driving.
Electric Setup
The biggest change is the move to a fully electric system. The Escalade IQ is equipped with a large battery pack of around 200 kWh, allowing it to reach a range of up to approximately 724 km under ideal conditions. Fast-charging capability is also a key feature, supporting high-speed DC charging that can quickly add usable range during long trips. In real-world use, this long range helps reduce charging frequency, but consistent home charging remains important, especially in regions where public charging infrastructure is still developing.
