Audi has offered an early look inside the upcoming 2027 Audi Q9, revealing a cabin designed to place comfort, technology, and luxury at the center of the driving experience. As the largest SUV in Audi's lineup, the Q9 is expected to sit above the Q7 and Q8, targeting buyers who want the space of a full-size family vehicle without sacrificing premium features.

 

 

One of the Q9's most notable innovations is its power-operated door system. For the first time on a production Audi SUV, all four doors can open and close electronically. Drivers can control the doors through the key fob, infotainment system, smartphone app, or automatic functions linked to the vehicle's safety systems. Sensors monitor the surroundings to help prevent doors from opening into nearby vehicles, cyclists, or obstacles, adding convenience while improving safety in tight parking areas.

 

 

Audi is also placing a major emphasis on passenger comfort. The Q9 will be available in both six-seat and seven-seat configurations. Buyers choosing the six-seat layout will receive individual captain's chairs in the second row, offering electric adjustment, ventilation, and additional personal space. Families may prefer the seven-seat version, which features three individually adjustable second-row seats designed to accommodate child seats more easily. The third row can fold electronically, allowing owners to switch between passenger and cargo duties with minimal effort.

 

 

Another highlight is the large panoramic smart-glass roof. Covering approximately 1.5 square meters, the roof can electronically adjust its transparency, allowing passengers to control sunlight and privacy without using a traditional sunshade. Audi says the system blocks more than 99 percent of harmful UV radiation, helping keep the cabin cooler while protecting occupants from prolonged sun exposure.

 

 

Technology plays a major role throughout the cabin. Audi has equipped the Q9 with a new generation Bang & Olufsen 4D sound system that combines traditional audio with seat-mounted actuators that create physical vibrations synchronized with bass frequencies. Integrated headrest speakers provide a more immersive listening experience, while ambient lighting works alongside the sound system to enhance the atmosphere inside the vehicle.

 

 

Material quality appears to be another key focus. The cabin features premium Nappa leather, Dinamica microfiber surfaces, natural wood trim, and new upholstery options that incorporate alpaca wool blends. Audi has also reduced the use of glossy black surfaces, opting instead for more refined materials that are less prone to fingerprints and wear over time.

 

 

While Audi has not yet revealed all technical specifications, this interior preview makes one thing clear: the Q9 is being positioned as a flagship luxury SUV built around comfort, craftsmanship, and passenger experience. With its combination of advanced technology, flexible seating arrangements, and premium materials, the Q9 aims to compete directly with the most established full-size luxury SUVs on the market when it makes its full debut later this year.
