Qatar: Traffic investigation Department and its Services

 

Road monitoring is necessary to maintain security and safety on the roads. Despite efforts to prevent traffic accidents, it can not be prevented, but traffic  accidents can be reduced through a number of procedures as what the General Traffic Department in all its departments does.

 

Traffic investigation in traffic accidents ensures the rights of all and finds the one who causes the accident  to be punished to not lead to any problems between people causing more damages and losses. The Traffic Investigation Department  of the General Directorate of Traffic and the Ministry of the Interior works daily to investigate road accidents. There are numerous patrols distributed over geographical areas covering all areas 24 hours a day.

 

These patrols receive reports  from citizens, where the Central Operations Room identifies the party causing the accident in accordance with the rules and laws of road traffic. The patrols in the Traffic Investigation Department rely on collecting information and evidence, taking eyewitness testimonies during the incident and checking the registration of cameras in the area to ensure the rights of all.

Traffic investigations are based on the integrity and full transparency of the investigators. The investigation is carried out only by those concerned and those who work in the Traffic Investigation Department, who work with all honesty and integrity.

 

Here are some functions done by the Traffic investigation Department: 

 

1. Investigation of traffic accidents on the roads.
2. Investigation in escaping incidents.
3. Investigation of the accidents, the perpetrators of which are anonymous.
4. Issuance of insurance reports for accidents and traffic issues as well as permission for vehicle repairs.

Many documents and papers related to the traffic accident are required. Here are the documents required in the traffic procedures:

 

1. Copy of the license and proof of the accused in the incident.
2. Copy of vehicle’s insurance and ownership.
3. Personal or written guarantee for the accused in the incident.
4. Complete the proceedings relating to criminal record for the accused in cases of alcohol incidents.

 

People can report traffic accidents in many ways and traffic patrols can observe any traffic accident and be present in the accident as quickly as possible. People can record minor traffic accidents that occur and help the responsible parties easily by Matarash 2 by which accessing traffic services is easier.

 

Here are the steps to report minor traffic accident via Metrash 2:

 

1. Take 4 photos of each vehicle and one of them must show the plate number.
2. Move the vehicles from the road to avoid any more accidents.
3. Make sure that location on your mobile is enabled to help in finding the location accurately.
4. Sign in to Metrash2 and select “Traffic Services” and open ‘Accident Report’.
5. Enter details of both vehicles (Vehicle No. QID No and Mobile No.)
6. Attach photos of both vehicles and click on your agreement on validity of the data.
7. Submit the report for traffic investigation
8. A notification SMS (text message) will be sent to you asking to wait for another message to complete the procedures.
9. After reviewing the accident photos by traffic investigators, text messages will be sent for both parties with instruction to go to insurance company or approval for vehicle repair.
