Car owners usually care about the regular maintenance of their cars and keep them in the perfect condition to ensure their safety on the road. What are the types of car seats and how do I choose the right one?

 

Types of car seats vary according to the age of the child and are divided into 3 categories:

 

1- Rear-Facing Car Seat:This type of seats has the face and body of the child facing the rear of the car, sitting opposite the normal sitting position in the car. It is one of the best seats for children under 5 years old. It has a belt and a comfortable and suitable cradle which reduces stress on the baby's neck and spinal cord. It has 3 different types depending on the age of the child as well.

 

2- Forward-Facing Car Seat: In this type the face and body of the child is naturally forward. It contains a belt that limits the child's movement forward when a crash occurs. Suitable for children aged 4 to 7 years. It also has 3 types depending on the child's age.

 

3- Booster Seat: use a belt on the seat so that it fits properly the stronger parts of your baby's body. There are 4 different types of Booster Seats depending on the age of your child and the amount of protection provided by the seat. This type is suitable for children ages 4 to 12 years.

There are many types of car seats for children, follow these tips to help you choose the right seat for your child and your car:

 

1. Choose the car seat based on your child's age and size, then choose a seat that fits your car and use it every time.

 

2. Always refer to the car seat manufacturer's instructions ,check the height and weight limits, and read the owner's manual on how to install the car seat using seat belts or lower anchors.

 

3. keep your child in the car seat as long as the child meets the height and weight requirements of the manufacturer.

 

4. Keep your child in the back seat at least until the age of 12.

 

5. Understand the parts and installation tools of the seat to install the seat properly inside the car to keep your child safe.
