Why your Check Engine Light is on?

By, 2018-09-11

Check Engine Light is on

If the engine check light appears in the car, there are some common reasons why. In most cases, you should always go straight to your auto mechanic to fix the problem using a simple diagnostic tool for plugins. Some problems can be repaired with ease but however, there are some reasons that can be very serious and require engine repair.

Let's look at three of the most common reasons why the check engine light is on

1- Malfunctioning Sensor

The O2 Sensor and Mass Air Flow Sensor are the most important sensors in modern engines. If any of these sensors are not working properly, and there are a variety of reasons that may affect them, incorrect signals may be sent to your car's computer, and a wrong "problem" indicator may cause the scan drive lamp to appear.

You can simply find out and check the sensors if they work properly by visiting the mechanic quickly. If the sensors are good, you will find the fault and fix it.

2- A need of a Tune Up

Your vehicle's plugs and wires, distributor cap, and rotor button can be some of the most common causes of the check engine light coming on.

These elements are usually taken care of during a routine adjustment, so if the check engine  light is on, it is wise to adjust the parts of the vehicle.

This process will not only help you get rid of the problem of lighting your car's check engine light, but rather make the car better overall.

3- Gas Cap Loose

This problem can be one of the most common problems of lighting the check engine light in the car. If the vehicle's gas cover is damaged or weared, the engine will not get the amount of pressure on the fuel line it needs and the engine check mark will light up. It also lights when the cover size is not suitable in this case you can fill the increase in the cover size to fit.

The easiest solution is to check the cap to be suitable for the gas hole. If necessary, replace the cover. If this does not solve the problem, then again, go to the car shop and let the technician perform a diagnostic test on the car engine.

While these three issues are among the most common and are considered easy to solve, there are some reasons that may lead to a serious engine problem if left untreated. So go to the mechanic quickly if the check mark is on.
