On Wednesday, the Ministry of Interior stated that keeping children safe in cars demands strict compliance with safety measures, such as using the correct car seat for each age and fastening seatbelts correctly.

Keeping children safe in cars requires strict adherence to safety measures. The Ministry of Interior emphasizes the importance of using the correct car seat for each age group and fastening seatbelts properly.

For children aged one to three years, a dedicated child car seat must be used. The seat should be installed according to the manufacturer’s instructions and the child must be secured correctly. Proper installation and correct fastening protect the child in the event of a collision.

Children aged three to ten years should sit in the back seat. The seatbelt must be fastened snugly across the lap and shoulder. This positioning reduces the risk of injury and ensures the child remains restrained.

Children older than ten years may sit in the front seat, but they must always wear the seatbelt correctly. The belt should lie low across the hips and across the chest without slack.

The safety of children in vehicles begins with responsible adults. By selecting the appropriate car seat, installing it correctly, and ensuring seatbelts are fastened properly, caregivers can significantly reduce the risk of injury and protect young passengers on every journey.
