What is the car wheel?

It  can be considered as a compressed air store, which in turn carries the weight of the vehicle and absorbs road shocks. It is made from 19 to 25 materials.

Read the following points to get answers to all the questions you have in mind about wheels and how to choose them:

1. Wheel type:

The wheels are often similar and you can not distinguish between one and the other because they are all circular and black in color! So you need to know the best and most famous companies that manufacture car wheels and choose one of them even if it costs a lot of money;  these wheels will carry your life and the life of those who will ride with you in the car.

These companies include:

• Bridgestone, a Japanese company.

• Michelin: French .

• Continental: German.

• Goodyear:  American.

• Pirelli: Italian.

2. Outer surface of the wheel:

There are lots of shapes for the wheels and they all contain cracks to rid the calf of water that is on the roads. There are three types of the outer surface of the wheel:  symmetrical ones are used for the most of cars, asymmetrical used mostly for sport cars, and directional patterning.

3. Wheel size:

You can get the appropriate wheel size for your vehicle through the instruction manual and sometimes you can find it on the door edge or inside the glove box.

To identify the appropriate wheel for your car you should read the symbols on the wheel. For example, "P 195/55 R 2016 87 V" The first number that contains three numbers indicates the tread width of the external wheel and the second number refers to the aspect  ratio and the third number, which consists of two numbers, indicates To rim diameter code.

3. When did it make?

Knowing the exact date when the wheel manufactured  is very important because the wheels lose their flexibility after the passage of time. You should pay attention to the date and the way it has been stored, too.

To know the date,  you have to look for a number of four boxes such as "1218". The third and fourth numbers refer  to the year of manufacture and in the previous example it means that the year is 2018. The first and second numbers refer to the week of the year it manufactured; it is week 12 in the previous example.

When choosing a wheel, make sure that it has not been made for more than a year and stored well away from the sun. Change your wheels constantly and do not drive in the same wheel for more than five years.

4. TEMPERATURE, TRACTION and TREADWARE:

  • You can find the word TEMPERATURE on the wheel followed by letters which differ from one wheel to another. For example, AA means that the wheel bears high temperatures, and C means that the wheel bear cold weather.
  • TRACTION word also is there followed by letters.
  • TREADWARE reflects the life span of the wheel.

It is advised to follow the numbers and instructions mentioned in the instruction manual.
