In a study conducted by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce in Qatar, residents believe they are paying much more than residence in the Gulf states when buying new cars and spare parts. The study was to question 4,000 residence who showed a clear dissatisfaction with the Qatar Auto industry.
In addition to expensive spare parts, residents have answered questions which showed no confidence in car dealers and service centres.
According to the survey, 94 percent of respondents believed vehicle prices in Qatar were high compared to other GCC countries.
While some manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz advertise standardized prices across the region, previous studies support the perception that car buyers in Qatar pay a premium.
