It is not the first time that a self-driving car involved in a traffic accident; considering the latest accident last month which result in the death of a woman in US.
The US press and social Media on Saturday has reported the traffic accident involving the Google-owned Waymo in Arizona. A Honda car swerved to avoid crashing in another vehicle, which led to the accident. The police confirmed that Waymo was working on self-driving mode at the time of the accident and the driver received minor injuries.
The accident is still under investigation as the company released a video from a car that showed that the car is not the responsible for the accident, but it was the Honda car that swerved from the road in the opposite direction of the Waymo car causing the accident. The company confirmed that the car was not working in self-driving mode at the time of the accident. The crash caused extensive damage for both cars, destroying the front of the Honda and damaging the side of the Waymo.
It’s time to wonder whether self-driving cars are ready to be used by the public and it can provide the required road safety or not!?
