Ram has officially brought back the TRX, and this isn’t just a nostalgic return—it’s a statement. The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX now packs 777 horsepower from a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8, making it one of the most extreme production pickups ever.

The TRX revival coincides with the return of Ram’s SRT performance division, and the numbers speak for themselves. With 680 lb-ft of torque, an 8-speed automatic transmission, and a full-time active four-wheel-drive system, the TRX is as quick as it is capable. Ram claims a 0-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds, putting it in hyper-truck territory.

 

 

What’s New Under the Hood

This isn’t the same engine as the previous TRX. According to brand boss Tim Kuniskis, the new 6.2-liter V-8 combines parts from multiple Mopar engines—what enthusiasts know as the “Orange Block” and “Red Block”—alongside select components from Mopar’s Direct Connection catalog. A redesigned dual-path induction intake system ensures maximum airflow while keeping mud, dust, and water out, helping the engine breathe better than ever.

 

 

Off-Road Performance

Ram hasn’t skimped on off-road hardware. Key figures include:

·       Front suspension travel: 13.0 inches

·       Rear suspension travel: 14.0 inches (Dana 60 with electronic rear locker)

·       Ground clearance: 11.8 inches

·       Shocks: Bilstein e2 Blackhawk active adaptive shocks

·       Baja Mode: Sends up to 75% of torque to the rear wheels

The TRX sits 2 inches higher than a standard 1500 Rebel and is 8 inches wider, giving it a more aggressive stance and better stability over rough terrain.

 

 

Exterior and Interior Updates

The 2027 TRX sticks to the Crew Cab, Short Bed formula but adds new details:

·       18-inch satin-black wheels (beadlock-capable on special editions)

·       Updated SRT and TRX badges

·       Heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats

·       14.5-inch center infotainment screen, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 10-inch head-up display

·       19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system

Ram has also teased a Bloodshot Night Edition with dual-tone black and red paint, carbon fiber trim, and upgraded wheels, though pricing for this variant is yet to be confirmed.

The 2027 TRX starts at $102,290 (~371,000 QAR) and is expected to arrive in dealerships in the second half of 2026.

With 777 horsepower under the hood, the TRX puts pressure on Ford and Chevrolet to respond. The next-generation Raptor R and a possible ZR2 with ZR1 power could be the answer—but for now, the TRX firmly reclaims its spot as the king of high-performance pickups.
