Toyota has officially unveiled the new GRMN Corolla, a track-focused evolution of the already impressive GR Corolla. Developed by Gazoo Racing and shaped by extensive testing at Germany’s Nürburgring and Japan’s Super Taikyu endurance racing series, the GRMN Corolla is designed to deliver a more engaging and capable driving experience for enthusiasts who want the ultimate version of Toyota’s hot hatch.

The GRMN Corolla retains the familiar 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine but receives a torque increase, bringing output to 302 lb-ft while maintaining 300 horsepower. Toyota focused on improving mid-range performance to enhance acceleration when exiting corners, making the car even more effective on a racetrack. The six-speed manual transmission remains standard, reinforcing the GRMN’s driver-focused character.

Aerodynamic performance has also been significantly upgraded. The GRMN features a carbon-fiber hood with a functional vent, enlarged fender ducts, front side spoilers, and a large adjustable rear wing. These components were developed using lessons learned from Toyota’s motorsport programs and help generate additional downforce while reducing weight. The rear wing offers multiple adjustment settings, allowing drivers to tailor the car’s aerodynamic balance for different driving conditions.

Underneath the bodywork, Toyota has fitted GRMN-specific suspension hardware, including specialized monotube shock absorbers and rebound springs tuned for improved cornering stability and traction. Wider Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires provide additional grip, while revised steering calibration and updated all-wheel-drive software help improve responsiveness and driver confidence at higher speeds.

Weight reduction was another major priority during development. The GRMN Corolla removes the rear seats entirely, transforming the car into a two-seater and helping reduce overall weight by approximately 66 pounds compared with a standard GR Corolla. Toyota also incorporated lightweight carbon-fiber components throughout the vehicle to further improve the power-to-weight ratio.

Inside, the cabin receives exclusive sport seats finished in black and red suede-like materials, unique dashboard trim, GRMN-specific details, and a numbered plaque highlighting the model’s limited-production status. The result is a more focused cockpit designed to keep the driver connected to the car during spirited driving.

Toyota has confirmed that the GRMN Corolla will be produced in limited numbers and offered primarily in North America, Japan, and Australia. Pricing and complete specifications have not yet been announced, but the GRMN is expected to become the most exclusive and expensive GR Corolla variant ever produced. For enthusiasts looking for a lightweight, manual-transmission hot hatch with genuine motorsport influence, the GRMN Corolla appears to be Toyota’s most serious effort yet.
