Qatar: a Temporary Closure in the Orbital Road for 5 Days

The General Directorate of Traffic has announced a temporary closure In the Orbital Road for 5 days, starting from Thursday 26 Apr. until Tuesday 1 May.

The Public Work Authority, in coordination with The General Directorate of Traffic, demonstrates that the closure will be in the northbound of the Orbital Road for a distance of 10 km, starting from the Orbital Road crossing over Al Shamal Road to Ras Laffan Road. In this regard, Ashgal has posted some instructions for drivers to use the Al Mazrooah Road instead of the Orbital Road through Al Khor intersection then to use the next roundabout by turning left to reach Ras Laffan Road.

It is worth mentioning that this closure aims at completing the work of the Orbital Road project and Truck Route . This project is part of many of Qatar Public Works Authority's development and construction projects to facilitate traffic for drivers and pedestrians as well as to ensure road safety.

Signs will be installed for drivers to alert them to the closure, duration and direction of roads they should use instead of using the Orbital Road. The Public Works Authority urged citizens to adhere to the speed limits of 80 km per hour and follow signs and instructions in order to maintain their safety.
