Drivers in Qatar caught smoking in vehicles that contain people under the age of 18 will possibly face a fine of up to QR 3,000, according to a new tobacco law signed by the H.H. Sheikh Tameem Bin Hamad.
The new legislation which was published in newspapers in Qatar couple of days ago goes beyond smoking while driving, to setting up new rules that will discourage the use of tobacco in Qatar. The ban on smoking in private cars applies to those driving with people under the age of 18 years.
The new legislation will help in making public places free of smoking, and will educate the community on the terrible effects of smoking.
