Cadillac reveals its First Electric Vehicle in 2021

In a few months, Cadillac will compete in electric vehicles field. Cadillac has recently announced for this distinctive strategy and the beginning will be in 2021 by revealing the first EV electric vehicle. This will be the first model electric vehicle for General Motors through the future.

General Motors has confirmed that Cadillac will lead more other signs in electric vehicles. The company is currently developing a special wheelbase that will carry at least 20 Cadillac electric vehicles in 2023. It will remain as Cadillac model for un-specified time before moving to other GM brands.

The Cadillac electric vehicle will be at the core of the Crossover SUV market, providing client's needs around the world," said Steve Carlyle, the director of Cadillac. He also mentioned that Cadillac would represent the summit of innovation and creativity, while positioning itself in the mobility sector.

General Motors' EV platform, which Cadillac will be the first to use, is very flexible. This will held the company to respond quickly to clients-preferred options with a short lead-time for design and development needs. Cadillac's range of products will benefit from a variety of chassis designs that can be available through this modern architecture.

The most advanced components of this platform are command systems and battery cells, both of them are designed to maximize use within the range of GM vehicles in variant countries. Electric vehicles can be designed by providing front, rear or four-wheel drive systems, and the power of their battery systems will be adjusted according to the vehicle and client needs.

It is worth remembering that Cadillac is currently working on many various vehicles, including the CT5 and CT4, both of them will reach the market in 2020. The two cars are expected to carry a 2.0-liter V2 engine with 237 horsepower, while the CT5 will be available with another V6 engine and a 4.2 liter 4.2-liter turbocharged V8 CT6-V which generates 550 horsepower.
