The Public Works Authority of Qatar (Ashghal) has partially opened a new intersection on F-Ring Road in the presence of a number of engineers, officials of the Authority and project engineers.
The opening of the new interchange is intended to provide a traffic flow between Doha, the North and the South. The intersection was basically opened to serve the Al-Thamamah Stadium as part of the preparations for the 2022 World Cup. The Public Works Authority is trying to accelerate finishing World Cup projects before the due time.

The project consists of two levels including a main bridge in addition to 4 loop bridges and four underpasses for vehicles. This is in addition to two pedestrian bridges and six pedestrian tunnels and bicycles.
The section that is partially opened from the intersection included an entrance from F-Ring Road to G-Ring Road in both directions. It also includes a one and a half kilometer road linking the new intersection with the Um-Bishr intersection. The number of lanes is from two to five lanes. It also opened two loop bridges, two vehicle tunnels and a 3 km service road along F-Ring Road.
