Ashghal Opens many Back to School Roads in Qatar

In order to ensure the security and safety of all citizens, especially school students, the Public Works Authority has opened several roads and projects that will facilitate and enhance traffic in Qatar.

 

The Works Authority has established several projects that serve a large number of schools and universities to provide safe and fast access for students. These projects include the partial opening of Al-Maatid Street and Al-Qattara Street in Al Wakra.

Ashgal has also implemented several projects to develop roads for local and external areas such as Rawda Rashed and North Bani Hajar and highways such as Dukhan road and the opening of the Seventh Ring Road which will facilitate traffic for students heading from west and south towards Qatar University or Education City.

 

As a part of its road safety plan for schools to maintain students' safety, Ashgal has completed 171 safety projects around different school areas. This is in addition to the development of a number of roads, including Al-Ma'adid Street, Al-Qattara Street in Al Wakra, Al Shura Intersection and Freej Kulaib Intersection.

 

The Public Works Authority, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Traffic, has published several guidelines for drivers and students on the roads today since it is the of the new school year. They stressed the need to ease the speeds on the road, especially in the areas of pedestrian corridors and roads surrounding the schools.
