MOI: Week's Slogan: " Dangers of over speeding and crossing signal"

 

The General Directorate Of Traffic in cooperation with Ministry of Interior (MOI) held a press conference yesterday ( 5/8/2018) to announce the details of the fifth week's activities of the "accident-free summer" awareness campaign. This week's slogan is " the dangers of over speeding and crossing signal.

                                           

Capt. Mohammed Misfer Al Hajri, Head of Traffic Planning, stated that over speeding and red-signal crossing play a crucial role in causing car crashes leading to severe loss on lives and property. He highlighted that this week activities to make people be aware of these two violations and the penalties of not abiding by the law.

Col. Mohammed Radhi Al-Hajri, Director of Traffic Awareness and Media Department, said that people must respect traffic law and rules and the violators of over speeding and red-signal will be subject to a fine of 6,000 QR and 7 points.

 

It is worth mention that over speeding data recorded during the second half of last year is 375962 and 4823 running red lights cases while the over speeding cases this year, 2018, is 512788 and running red lights cases are 6769
