18 Aug 2018

Diesel engines are no longer the preferred choice of most people in the world due to many breakdowns and scandals in diesel engines such as diesel emissions, most notably with Volkswagen cars.

In the context of protecting individuals from the risk of breakdowns and leaks in diesel engines and the environment from harmful and unreasonable emissions Swiss has announced a ban on Mercedes diesel models such as the Mercedes Vito model, which contains a 1.6 liter diesel engine. And models from the Porsche, such as: Porsche Makan with a capacity of 3 liters and Cayenne, which includes a 4.2-liter engine.

The ban includes those vehicles imported on 17/8/2018 and models registered prior to this date will have the right to retain their license with the necessary of examining their cars to comply with the basic standards.

Will automakers stop manufacturing diesel engines and head for electric motors in the future or will they try to overcome these problems with newer technologies while keeping diesel engines as the best engines for cars?
