The Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Directorate of Traffic celebrate the Arab Traffic Week 2018, under the slogan “Following the Rules, Reflects your Awareness”. In this regard, the Ministry organized an awareness exhibition for two days, 8 and 9 May, in cooperation with many concerned institutions with traffic awareness.
The aim of the exhibition is to raise awareness about the rules and regulations of traffic that must be followed by all drivers and pedestrians as well as to enhance the culture of traffic in society in different categories. The Director of Traffic Awareness, Col. Mohammad Radi Al Hajri, said that the traffic awareness section is celebrating this occasion in order to spread traffic awareness among road users and teach them the rules and regulations that they must follow.
Al-Hajri pointed out that the General Directorate of Traffic has invited a number of entities concerned with traffic such as the Qatar Red Crescent, Hamad Medical Corporation, the University of Qatar Studies Center and many departments of the Ministry of Interior. He stressed that the biggest focus is to spread awareness among road users because the main objective is to preserve their lives and property.
He added, although traffic accidents deaths had been declined recently, the vast majority of traffic accidents were among youth. In this regard, the exhibition focuses mainly on teaching youth and young people traffic rules and laws that must be followed. Finally, he stressed the seriousness of the Ministry of Interior and its partners to achieve the objectives of traffic in accordance with the plans for 2018-2022, which aims primarily to reduce the number of deaths due to traffic accidents.
