A Partial closure on Al Furousiya Roundabout Until Sunday 29Apr.

The Public Works Authority of Qatar “Ashghal”, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Traffic, has announced a partial and temporary closure on Al Furousiya Roundabout and will continue until Sunday 29 April to complete the conversion of the roundabout into a signal-controlled intersection.

The closure will be in front of those coming from Umm al-Jaljam and Al-Qalaa Street towards Al Furousiya Roundabout. Therefore, those coming from these areas towards the Al Furousiya Roundabout should turn right towards Al Furousiya Street and those who are coming towards the roundabout, they can complete the Al Furousiya road and turn right.

This closure comes as a part of the completion of the Al Furousiya Roundabout development project to allow the workers to turn the roundabout into an intersection with light signals. The aim of turning the Roundabout into a signal-controlled intersection is to reduce the traffic congestion of the roundabout, as well as increase the number of lanes of Al Furousiya Street to four lanes in each direction with a service road on both sides of the street, in order to enhance traffic flow and increase the street capacity to accommodate current and future traffic requirements.

Signs will be installed for drivers to alert them to the closure, duration and direction of roads they should use instead of using Al Furousiya Roundabout. The Public Works Authority urged citizens to adhere to the speed limits and follow signs and instructions in order to maintain their safety.
