Motor oil is used for lubrication of internal combustion engines. Motor oil does more than that function in which cleans the engine, prevents rust, improves its performance and cools it.
Motor oil consists of hydrocarbons and organic compounds.

You do not need to try it out in your car! EngineeringExplained, YouTube channel, has tried running the engine without oil. What do you expect the result to be?
Jason makes a comparison between the same engine once how it works with oil and again without oil to clarify things more and understand in detail what happens in both cases.
He sheds the light on five points monitored for the engine in both experiments which are: the crankcase below the level where oil will rest, on top of the crankcase where no oil will rest, the engine block, the exhaust pipe exiting the cylinder, and the valve cover.

You will notice that the engine without oil remains at a lower temperature than the engine that contains oil in the first 8 minutes, but that does not mean that you have to run your engine without oil if you want to reduce your engine's temperature!
The engine continues to operate without oil for 15 minutes, leaving considerable damages to the engine. The lack of sufficient oil for the engine works to friction the components of the engine with each other, causing huge damages and it may explode later.
You'll think more deeply about constantly checking your motor oil and changing it to not damage the engine and the car itself as well. The presence of oil in the engine is necessary as the need for blood in the human body.
