The opening of the “Red" street in Doha Corniche

The Private Engineering Office, opened the “Red” street yesterday which is located within the boundaries of Al Bida Park, and extends from the Qatar National Theatre to the Amiri Diwan.

The street is the first of its kind in Qatar in terms of its red colour and the option of closing it by automated barriers to make it accessible for pedestrians only. As well as closing it during important events such as the National Day, Sports Day and other world events such as the World Cup.

The opening of the “red” street is part of Al Bida Park project, which is being supervised by the Special Engineering Office. The project is expected to complete by the end of this year.

It is worth mentioning that Al Bida Park is one of the main areas which is supposed to hold World Cup celebrations. Al Bida Park extends over an area of about 2 million square meters and is one of the largest parks in the region.

The Park includes many public service facilities, the most important of which are underground parking spaces for approximately 6,000 cars distributed in all directions of the park, large fitness halls, one for women only, outdoor exercise equipment, sports and open-air playgrounds, an open theater for 850 psople, bicycle, horse, and camel trails, water areas, and other recreational and service facilities.
