Is the new Patrol going to take over the Land Cruiser?

 

“Hero of all Terrain”, this was the slogan for Nissan campaign after lancing the all new Patrol 2017.

 

Why not the hero if we know that the engine for the 2017 Patrol is the most powerful of it’s segment. An engine of 5.6L V8 or 4.0L V6 along with VVEL technology and an industry-first Direct Injection Gasoline system deliver seamless acceleration with 400hp and 560Nm of torque.

 

In addition, a 7-speed Automatic transmission with Manual mode and synchronised Rev Control, will set you up for a journey of unmatched driving experience in the desert and normal roads.

 

Nissan is now very confident that its new Patrol can win on dunes against any of its competitors, therefore Nissan announced a new concept to revolutionize the way vehicles are evaluated for desert performance. The new concept is called “Desert Camel Power”. 

 

The “Desert Camel Power” uses a scientifically proven equation to determine, in an accurately measurable and reproducible way, how a given vehicle will perform off-roads.

 

The main reason why Nissan introduced the “Desert Camel Power” is to put an end to the debate about which car is stronger in off-roads, as Horsepower alone is not enough to perform well in desert conditions.

 

Nissan announced that the “Camel Power” is the interplay between the vehicle’s weight, its velocity and its trajectory. Other factors including maneuvrability, engine torque and of course the skills of the driver do come into play and cannot be discounted.

 

The arguments have raged for decades among off-road enthusiasts about which vehicle, Patrol or Land Cruiser, is the most capable in the desert. and with the help of the “Camel Power” Nissan is sure to put an end to this argument and announce the end of this battle for its favour. Basically, announce the Patrol as the Winner!
