Video.. Two hours of rain floods Doha

 

Most regions of َQatar have seen today (Wednesday) afternoon, a heavy rain fall accompanied with lightning and thunder with wind activity.

 

Residents and citizens shared photos and videos of the rain fall on Facebook, Instagram, SnapChat, and Twitter. The photos and videos showed how roads were flooded, some buildings leaking water, and many cars breaking down.

 

And despite that the rain was expected, there was no preparation for it. It was clear that there has been no maintenance work done prior to the rain. Qatar forecasters had warned over several days that this weekend will see heavy rain, but has any of the authorities made any precautions?

 

Many of the roads in Doha have seen flooding including main routes such as Al Waab, Al Dafna, the Industrial area, and many others. The flooding has caused long traffic tails, broken down cars, and very unsatisfied commuters.

 

With these circumstances, we encourage all commuters to drive safely and to follow our advices which were published earlier here.
