Overheating Engine Qatar

Our Arab region, especially in GCC, is famous during the summer months with temperatures rising to record levels of 55 degrees Celsius, and these are of course very harsh conditions for the car engines.

There are simple and helpful tips and tricks to help keep your car cool during the hot months and ensure you have complete peace of mind.

First, we need to understand why car engines are overheating and what we should do when this happens.

Engines can overheat for a number of reasons, including low coolant levels, leaks, low oil levels, malfunctioning water pumps, and many other reasons. Your role as a driver is to check and maintain the engine regularly to ensure that you do not encounter such problems.

In the event of an overheating of the engine, you must immediately turn off the air conditioner, then park the vehicle at the nearest place and let it cool down before checking the engine area. The engine may need simple treatment, such as adding water to coolant, but in any other case, do not attempt to drive the car, but tow it to the nearest repair shop to be inspected by a professional.

To reduce the risk of your car's engine overheating, we recommend that you follow these guidelines regularly.

Air-Conditioner A/C

In order to drive your vehicle safely with the A/C turned on and reduce the risk of overheating, choose a mode that allows your A/C to use outside air for cooling rather than recirculating the air in the cabin. This allows more air to flow through the engine and lowers its temperature.

Furthermore, when it comes to car air conditioning, prevention is better than cure, so be sure to have your car serviced regularly to help cool the cabin more efficiently during the hot months.

Keet the Ventilation System Clean

Keep the cabin of your vehicle cool and the air fresh while driving in extreme heat by maintaining the integrity of your vehicle's interior cooling components.

You should remove any dust or dirt particles stuck in the air conditioning vents to extend the life of the air filter by using any type of household brush.

Keeping the engine cool

You can extend the life of your car's engine despite scorching heat by keeping it cool. Therefore, always maintain your engine's coolant levels as required as this protects it from overheating by absorbing and dissipating the heat generated by the combustion process inside the cylinders, allowing the engine to operate at appropriate temperatures.

And if you find yourself in an emergency situation and you immediately need coolant to fill your engine, you can turn to water and mix it with the coolant in your engine, the water acts as a great buffer until you can find coolant - which is why it is always important to have A large spare water bottle in the car for emergencies.

Engine oil check

Make sure to check your engine oil levels at least every two months, and make sure you're using a high-quality type of oil. In addition, you must make sure that the engine parts are well lubricated. What you need to check the engine oil is a towel or any kind of white cloth.

You can pull the dipstick into the engine compartment and wipe its tip with the towel, repeat this process and check the color and viscosity of the oil under the sun.

It is reported that the dipstick has maximum and minimum indicators that show the amount of oil in your engine. And the oil on the dipstick should be close to the maximum. If the oil is liquid and transparent with a yellow color, this means that it is in good condition, but if it is thick and dark and difficult to see through, you need to do an oil change!
