A very clever marketing move from a Toyota dealer in the USA

While demand for the all-new 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray continues to be high, the automaker, for one main reason beyond its control, has not been able to keep up. Fortunately, pricing for the 2021 model will remain unchanged so those who missed out this year won't have to pay the price (literally).

But one Toyota dealership has decided to take advantage of Chevy's situation with a very clever and simple idea. A Corvette Forum member spotted this billboard sign from Yokem Toyota, located in Shreveport, Louisiana. It reads: "Still Waiting On A Corvette? Come Get Your Supra."

The Toyota Supra costs about $10,000 less than a new C8 and, and starting next year, the turbo four-pot Supra will go on sale with around a $17,000 difference.

Of course, the price isn't the only difference between the sports cars. The C8 Corvette is mid-engined with a more exotic-looking exterior and interior design. And if you're just looking at the Supra vs. Corvette on a performance and power basis, the Corvette is the clear winner.

It has a 113 horsepower advantage over the Supra, powered by a BMW-sourced turbo inline-six. The C8, meanwhile, has a naturally aspirated V8 with up to 495 hp. The bottom line is this: Toyota, nor any of its dealers, will be able to convince a determined C8 buyer to change their mind.
