From today... No permit required to enter or exit Industrial Area

In line with the first stage of the gradual lifting of restrictions imposed as a result of the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19), a decision has been made to remove the requirement for entry and exit permits to and from the Industrial Area effective today Monday, 15 June.

However, entry and exit checkpoints will remain to ensure compliance with precautionary measures, including checking: bus capacity is reduced by half, masks are being worn, and only individuals with a green health status in the Ehteraz application can enter the area.

The Industrial Area was partially closed after the discovery of a number of coronavirus cases among its residents. During the partial closure period, thousands of people were tested for the virus, and more than 6,500 individuals were transferred to quarantine. Those who were suspected or confirmed to be infected with the virus were provided with free, high-quality health care.

In light of achieving the desired objectives of the partial closure, the Permanent Committee for Industrial Area Affairs eased restrictions by gradually opening and developing a system of entry and exit permits for a period of time, and has now announced the cancellation of permits from Monday. The continued use of entry and exit checkpoints will ensure the health and safety of Industrial Area residents and all members of society.

It must be emphasized that the easing of restrictions does not mean the virus has disappeared. All members of society should continue to take precautions and follow recommended guidelines to ensure the successful implementation of the gradual lifting of the restrictions imposed in the State of Qatar, with the aim of returning to normal life.
