The 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class joins Mercedes as a new shape of the GLK compact crossover SUV. The Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class was one of the first compact crossover luxury SUVs to hit the market, of course after the BMW X6 (some people dont consider the X6 as compact but in Qatar we do). It boasted strong performance and sophisticated ride and handling capabilities. But not everybody loved its blocky exterior design, elevated wind noise at highway speeds and lack of cabin space. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, its all-new successor, promises to make up for these shortcomings and then some.
From the first look, you can easily tell this car is made for families. The current GLK has followed a form that’s considerably boxier than the larger M-Class (now called the GLE); but with the new 2016 GLC, Mercedes-Benz moves to a somewhat more rounded profile and not as sharp details—yet a front-end design that’s far more striking. While we have to admit we’re going to miss the GLK’s earnest, chiseled lines, the GLC takes a step upmarket, and it now closely resembles the GLE-Class—to the degree that if you don’t see it next to one, you might be left wondering which one you’re seeing.
For those who are looking for a compact SUV, GLC from Mercedes could be a very good option.
