Showrooms in Mawater City Seeking Improvement

 

When Mawater City project was announced in 2016, many car dealers in Doha sow an amazing opportunity and they thought business there may seem lucrative.

 

But now, and after more than one year in operation, car dealers of used vehicles are staring at stagnated sales, lack of walk-in customers, aggressive promotions and price cuts for new cars, and challenges to secure financing.

 

The current situation of slow sales pushed many car dealers in Mawater City to start discussing the current rent value and the future rent value with the developer. They plan tp write a letter in order to raise it to the concerned people claiming that the new city needs strong advertising plan, and facilities such as a bank, food places, and inspection companies.

 

Salamah Al Shayed, one of the car dealers said to Qmotor; “Mawater has a good potential if all car dealers move there, and some services are opened and more promotions is made for customers”.

 

Nadeem Khan, who has been working in the Auto market in Qatar in the past 20 years said: “There is clearly something wrong. We are currently studying the matter to address the issues, but we have to do something to attract customers to Mawater City”.

 

Its important to mention that Mawater City is located in Rawdat Rashid near Salwa road intersection, and extends over a land plot of 1,150,000 square meters. The plan for the project once completed is to include used car showrooms, residential accommodation, workshops, in addition to a hotel, a motel and commercial shops. It will also provide other supporting facilities including offices for The Traffic Department, Civil Defense, banks, car insurance, a petrol station and car technical testing service (Fahes).
