Closure in Many Roads in Qatar Due to Heavy Rains

Qatar has witnessed heavy rains yesterday in different parts of the State, causing some road closures because of the high level of water in a way that does not allow cars to pass through.

The General Directorate of Traffic has published on its official accounts on social media the whereabouts of closures due to heavy rains. It was as follows: the closure of the 22 February road, the Salwa Road, the Corniche Road and the Omar Bin Al Khattab Tunnel.

Traffic of Al Jawazat Tunnel has been diverted to the roundabout and water withdrawals continue. The road was closed from the Dahl al-Hamam intersection towards Al-Mirkhya and Al-Gharafa road until the water withdrawals were completed.

The General Directorate of Traffic calls on the drivers to move away from above mentioned areas, to abide with speed limits and to leave sufficient distances “safety distance” in order to avoid traffic accidents, wishing safety to all.
