Al Shamal Road will see some diversions during 2016

Starting at January 8th 2016, the signal at Wadi Al Salamiya street and Al Kharaitiyat street on Al Shamal Road will be closed for the next year, as been announced by th Ministry of Ashghal (Road and infrastructure work).

The diversion is to complete the construction of a bridge that is part of the North Road enhancement project. During diversion time, which is estemated to be one year, traffic will be diverted to a two-lane roundabout as shown in the map (as provided by Ashghal) and the speed limit will be reduced to 30km/hour. The North Road Enhancement Expressway Program entails the construction of service roads along Al Shamal from the northern part of Doha at Al Duhail Interchange, to the town of Al Shamal. The overall project was originally slated for completion at the end of 2013, and now there is no new completion date.
