Mitsubishi Pajero 2027 Is Back: Arrival Date and Full Specifications

06 Sep 2026

Mitsubishi Pajero

2027

After an absence of around five years, the Mitsubishi Pajero is making its return with an all-new fifth generation. The 2027 Mitsubishi Pajero marks the comeback of one of the most iconic SUVs in Qatar and across the Gulf.

Mitsubishi officially unveiled the new generation in September 2026, introducing major changes to the design, chassis, four-wheel-drive system, technology and interior. With its return now confirmed, two questions are on the minds of Pajero fans in Qatar: When will the 2027 Pajero arrive, and how much will it cost?

When Will the 2027 Mitsubishi Pajero Arrive in Qatar?

Mitsubishi confirmed that the new Pajero will initially launch in Thailand, followed by Japan and Australia, before expanding to around 100 countries in the next phase, including markets across the Middle East.

Mitsubishi Qatar has not yet announced an official launch date for the 2027 Pajero. However, the company's global rollout plans indicate that the SUV is expected to reach Qatar and other GCC markets sometime in 2027.

The exact month in which the new Pajero will arrive in Qatari showrooms has yet to be officially confirmed.

How Much Will the 2027 Mitsubishi Pajero Cost in Qatar?

Mitsubishi has not yet announced official Qatar pricing for the 2027 Pajero. However, early indications suggest that the price could be around QAR 220,000, particularly for higher-spec variants.

Final prices will naturally depend on the trim levels, engine options, and equipment Mitsubishi chooses to offer in the GCC.

What is clear is that Mitsubishi intends to position the new Pajero above its predecessor. The company is presenting it as one of its flagship models, combining serious off-road capability with a significantly higher level of luxury and technology.

For now, QAR 220,000 should be considered an estimated rather than an official price until Mitsubishi Qatar announces its final price list.

2027 Mitsubishi Pajero Engine

Mitsubishi has unveiled the new Pajero with a 2.4-litre turbo-diesel engine equipped with a VGT turbocharger, producing up to 480 Nm of torque.

The engine is paired with a new eight-speed automatic transmission featuring a Sport mode.

There is, however, an important point for buyers in Qatar. Mitsubishi has not yet confirmed whether the 2.4-litre diesel engine will be offered in the Qatari and wider GCC markets or whether the region will receive different engine options.

Super Select 4WD-II: The Pajero Hasn't Forgotten Its Off-Road Roots

Despite its move towards greater luxury, the new Pajero has not abandoned what made it famous: serious four-wheel-drive and off-road capability.

The 2027 Pajero is built on a strong ladder-frame chassis and features Mitsubishi's well-known Super Select 4WD-II system.

The system offers four drive settings:

  • 2H: Rear-wheel drive
  • 4H: Four-wheel drive
  • 4HLc: Four-wheel drive with the centre differential locked
  • 4LLc: Low-range gearing for demanding off-road conditions

It is complemented by Mitsubishi's S-AWC system, which manages vehicle dynamics by controlling and distributing driving and braking forces.

Seven Drive Modes, Including Sand and Rock

The new Pajero offers seven driving modes:

  • Normal
  • Eco
  • Gravel
  • Snow
  • Mud
  • Sand
  • Rock

The inclusion of dedicated Sand and Rock modes is particularly relevant to Qatar and the GCC, where desert and dune driving are important considerations for buyers in this segment.

2027 Mitsubishi Pajero Dimensions and Ground Clearance

The 2027 Mitsubishi Pajero measures 4,920mm in length, 1,925mm in width and 1,910mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,870mm.

Ground clearance reaches 230mm when equipped with 20-inch wheels.

It also offers a 30.4-degree approach angle, 25.8-degree departure angle and 22.6-degree breakover angle, reinforcing Mitsubishi's focus on maintaining genuine off-road capability.

The front suspension uses an independent double-wishbone setup, while the rear features a solid axle with a new five-link suspension system.

A More Luxurious Seven-Seat Interior

The cabin is one of the areas where the new Pajero has changed most dramatically.

The SUV offers seven seats, with the second row capable of sliding by up to 150mm to provide additional passenger space and easier access to the third row.

Available features include ventilated seats and three-zone automatic climate control, both particularly useful in the Gulf climate.

Mitsubishi has also used sound-insulating glass for the windscreen and doors to create a quieter and more refined cabin.

These upgrades are designed to make the new Pajero more suitable for everyday family use without compromising its adventurous character.

Dual 14.3-Inch Displays and New Technology

Technology has also taken a major step forward.

Higher-spec versions of the Pajero feature two 14.3-inch displays integrated into a panoramic dashboard layout, while some variants are equipped with 12.3-inch screens.

One interesting detail is the return of the additional information displays that were a familiar feature of older Pajero generations, now reimagined digitally through Mitsubishi's Multi Meter system.

It can display information including altitude, compass direction, temperature, vehicle pitch and roll angles, and the status of selected driving systems.

A Dynamic Sound Yamaha Ultimate audio system is also available, featuring 12 speakers and two amplifiers.

2027 Mitsubishi Pajero Safety and Driver Assistance

The 2027 Pajero comes with a significantly upgraded range of driver assistance and safety systems.

These include Mitsubishi's MI-PILOT system, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, and collision warning and intervention technologies.

The SUV is also equipped with eight airbags, including a centre airbag positioned between the driver and front passenger.

Another notable feature is the 3D Multi Around Monitor, which uses four cameras to create a three-dimensional view of the vehicle's surroundings.

For off-road driving, the system can also help the driver see the area beneath the front of the vehicle, making it easier to navigate rocks, steep terrain and difficult trails.

Can the Mitsubishi Pajero Make a Strong Comeback in Qatar?

Everything revealed so far suggests that Mitsubishi wants to bring the Pajero back in a very different form.

It is no longer simply a tough Japanese SUV. The new generation aims to combine genuine four-wheel-drive capability, luxury, technology and family practicality in one package.

Its success in Qatar, however, could depend heavily on two factors that have yet to be confirmed: the engine selected for the GCC market and the official Qatar price .

If the higher-spec variants do arrive at around QAR 220,000, the 2027 Pajero will enter one of the most competitive areas of Qatar's SUV market.

The big question for Pajero fans in 2027 will be:  Can the new Mitsubishi Pajero reclaim the position it held for so many years in Qatar and across the Gulf?
