Qatar was covered yesterday morning with a thick layer of fog which caused poor visibility. Hence the accident rate has gone up more than 60% to register more than 113 accidents reported in Qatar in one day.
The Ministry of Interior - Qatar said there were no deaths in these accidents, and that they ordered more police officers to be on the roads to manage traffic flow.
This morning Qatar was, once again, covered with fog and the MOI has advised motorists to do the following to stay safe:
- Keep a distance between vehicles.
- Stay in your lane as much as you can and avoid changing lane.
- Avoid random passing and overtaking.
- Don’t use high-beam lights or hazard lights, this is a common mistake motorists do.
- Pull over and stop somewhere safe if the fog is too thick.
Safe driving everyone!
