Traffic Diversion on Al Wakra Road from 27/10/2018 until 2020

The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ has announced on its official social media platforms and website the commencement of Al Wakra Main Road upgrade works to develop the road network in the southern area. The developments in the project will stretch from the Airport Interchange on G-Ring Road to Mesaieed Road and Waab Behair.

 

The projects aim to widen the road to accommodate more vehicles in all directions, reduce travel time and avoid traffic accidents. In addition, the project includes a plan to construct bikes and pedestrian paths for the importance of Al Wakra Road linking Doha and Al Wakra together.

 

The project is planned to be achieved in three stages and it is scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of 2020.

Because of the project, traffic will be closed for road users going to Doha from Al Meshaf and Al Wukair areas. There will be also traffic diversion in coordination with the General Directorate of Trafficwhich will install traffic signs for drivers to follow.

Drivers can follow these directions during this period:

 From Al Meshaf and Al Wukair  

Traffic coming from Al Wukair and Al Meshaf areas, road users can take left a turn at the signalized intersection of Saud Bin Abdelrahman Street & Al Wakra Parallel road towards Doha and Hamad International Airport.

From Fahes Al Wakra & Woqod petrol station

Traffic coming from adjacent areas for Fahes Al Wakra & Woqod petrol station facilities can lead to reach Doha & Hamad International Airport via turning right at the junction near Woqod petrol station and making a U-turn at Al Sadafa Roundabout.
