Rain, thunder and additional traffic,

Heavy flooding on the roads this morning caused traffic to come to a standstill for hours.

 

Many parents are wondering whether their children will be returning to school tomorrow. So far, the Supreme Education Council has not told schools to close, though more rain is expected this afternoon and in the coming morning.

Many areas around the city were flooded with traffic delays and vehicle breakdown due to water logging.

 

Additionally, Qatar’s public works authority Ashghal has cleared up rumors that bridges in Qatar are in danger of cracking, saying that the structure is completely safe.

Ezdan Mall in Al Gharafa evacuated and closed its top floor, including the food court, earlier this morning after a section of the interior plaster ceiling near Funville children’s play area collapsed. Water could be seen pouring into the mall.
