BMW Recalls Most New M5s Over Faulty Fuel Pumps

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), BMW, the Bavarian automaker, is calling in  2018 M5s due to a default with the fuel pump.

 

The engine will not work if there is a problem in the fuel pump. In this regard, BMW is recalling 846 units that are having this defuel in the fuel pump.

 

To fix this default, BMW will just update the software in the engine control unit and this process is simple and easy. They have started to solve this problem in July 6.

It is worth mentioning that this problem is related to the vehicles built from August 21, 2017 until April 17, 2018, when M5 was built.

To control this problem, BMW has made some actions including issuing a stop-sale order to those units and a recall notice as well.

In addition, BMW also announced the recall of certain 335d diesel sedans from the 2010-11 along with M5 since these cars are having a problem with the electrical power steering system. A problem with this system could make the vehicle stopping at any time.

To solve this problem, BMW will replace the positive battery cable connector and securing it better.
