Ashgal to partially close Al Furousiya Street

The Public Works Authority of Qatar (Ashghal) has announced a partial closure of the Al Furousiya Street in the lanes connecting the Muaither intersection and the Manaseer intersection. The closure will begin on Saturday, 2 June 2018.

The closure will continue for two and a half months. During the closure, the traffic will be diverted to 3 lanes parallel to the closed lanes of Al Furousiya Street. This closure comes in order to complete the construction work aimed at the development of Al Furousiya Street. The development includes making the Al Furousiya Street with four lanes instead of three lanes along with a service road on both sides of the street.

The development work of the Public Works Authority aims at enhancing and facilitating traffic flow and increase the street capacity to accommodate current and future traffic requirements. In coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, Signs will be installed for drivers to alert them to the closure, duration and directions of roads they should use.

During the closure,both Al Furousiya roundabout and Muaither roundabout will be converted into traffic junctions to reduce traffic congestion. The Public Works Authority urged citizens to adhere to the speed limits and follow signs and instructions in order to maintain their safety.
