After a long wait for one of the world’s most popular SUVs, Mercedes-Benz has launched the G-Class yesterday during the Detroit Auto Show.
The all-new G-Class doesn’t look new but, indeed, it is!
The all-new G-Class doesn’t look new but, indeed, it is. While its boxy good looks are still accounted for, there are some slight updates to the front and rear fascia. Part of this car's appeal is its rolling-anachronism theme, so Mercedes was wise not to mess with success all that much. But while it might look the same, the body is actually 2.1 inches longer and 4.8 inches wider than before.
With regards to the internal of the 2019 G-Class, it has all the updated entertainment features. Its voice assistant has two TFT screens, and makes it feel like a modern car on the inside, finally.
The new G-Class also has an in-car tech that incorporates voice assistance, and its a system that actually works, and has been appreciated by many car critiques. It’s worth mentioning the G-Class, has off-road skill that most owners won’t use. Its skills reinforce the invincible image of the original G-Class, introduced nearly 40 years ago.
Mercedes has given the G550 a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8, good for 416 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. Mercedes has not mentioned if the G-Class will come in any other trim as yet.
The new G-Class will go on sale in Qatar by late 2018, and the price will be approximately QR 490,000.
