No change in fuel prices in Qatar for May

The Ministry of Energy and Industry announced last Thursday the prices of fuel in the domestic market during the month of May, without any change on April prices, where the diesel maintained its price for the month of April at (1.60) per liter. The excellent gasoline (91) at the price of (1.60) riyals per liter, as well as super gasoline (95) remained for the month of May at (1.70) riyals per liter.

 

How the fuel prices is calculated in Qatar

 

In April 2016, the Ministry of Energy and Industry announced the formation of a committee to study the prices of fuel in the domestic market, which was commissioned to implement the program of restructuring the calculation of fuel prices in the domestic market, which aims to harmonize the movement of fuel prices in the domestic market with prices in the world markets. Since its inception, the Commission has adopted an accounting model that takes the international average price for 90 days to estimate fuel prices in the domestic market, which has contributed to the consistency of domestic prices with world prices as is the case in all developed economies.
